‘Taste of the Beach’ set for June 8 on Ft. Myers Beach
The 2008 Taste of the Beach plans are in full swing. Guests will be pleased to see the Taste actually in the sand.
On June 8 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m., event goers will be treated to an event held in the lots at 1080 to 1130 Estero Boulevard, just past the Times Square area, complements of Pierview Hotel & Suites, the site sponsor.
This year’s Taste of the Beach promises to be a hit with both visitors and residents. This will be the fourth year that the Taste is held on Estero Island, but the first year to be in the sand.
The street festival atmosphere will make it an event that families will enjoy.
Hosted by The Greater Fort Myers Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, the event will give festival goers the opportunity to “taste” the best the Beach has to offer.
Taste of the Beach Committee Chairman, George Ghanem from Taylor Rental & Creative Events, invites everyone to join in the fun.
“This will be a Taste to remember,” he said. “It’s a great opportunity for the Chamber to host it right in the middle of town where everyone will see it and want to go.”
At the 13th annual Taste of the Beach, you will hear lots of terrific music by local musicians including Island Arts Foundation artists.
The children will be entertained by Moonwalk and More. There will be a Waiter/Waitress Contest sponsored by SunStream Hotels & Resorts.
The Beach Observer and Beach Bulletin, sister publication of The Breeze, will be organizing the judges that will decide which “tastes” are the cream of the crop.
The event also will have a Peoples Choice vote that you will be able to participate. Attendees can vote for their favorites. Exhibitors will once again be able to setup a booth to promote their business services and products. Other sponsors include: Gilman Ciocia Financial Services, Semmer Electric, The Town of Fort Myers Beach, Woodard & Curren, Bay Area Remodelers, Lee County Elections, Island Sand Paper, 93.5 OLZ, The News-Press and WXCW-Channel 6. If you are interested in Sponsoring the Taste of the Beach or you want to participate as a restaurant, exhibitor, or be a volunteer, contact Georgia Reinmuth at the Chamber office, 454-7500.
