A Cape Coral man allegedly battered a 67-year-old woman at the Cape Coral Moose Lodge on Saturday night.
George Zanos, 44, of 904 S.E. 34th Terrace, was charged with battery of a person 65 years or older.
Zanos grabbed the woman by the neck and pushed her head into the bar at the lodge, which is located at 419 Cape Coral Parkway E., at approximately 9:25 p.m., the woman reportedly told police.
Officers located Zanos walking northbound in the 4500 block of Country Club Boulevard.
He reportedly told police the two had been arguing when the victim kneed him in the groin. Zanos said he grabbed the woman’s hair and “pulled her away from him,” reports state.
An independent witness reportedly told police Zanos grabbed the woman by the neck and almost slammed her head into the bar.
Zanos was taken to the Lee County Jail in apparent good health.
He was held on $5,000 bond Monday evening, according to jail booking records.
