Robert H. Rinko

Robert H. Rinko, 69, formerly of Cape Coral, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte, Fla., following a courageous battle with lymphoma. He was born Jan. 8, 1939, in Bridgeport, Conn., to his parents, Walter O. and Edith Rinko, now deceased.
He married Kathleen in 1960 in Trumbull, Conn.
He served his country honorably with the U.S. Marines.
He moved to Cape Coral in 1975 from Huntington, Conn. He owned and operated Rinko and Assoc. in Cape Coral for many years.
He was a former member of the Palmetto Pine Country Club and an avid golfer with a hole in one to his credit. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and will always be remembered as “The Pop.”
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen; children, Tammy (Allen) Lipa of Cape Coral, Tricia (Greg) Gaddis of Destin, Fla., Bobby Jr. (Carole) Rinko of Cape Coral, and Tracey (Jeff) Standridge of Alabama; grandchildren, Christian and Joseph Carlee, Bobby Rinko III and John Christensen; and great-grandchildren, Trace Sears, Christian Carlee II and Ashton Carlee.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Walter O. Rinko Jr.
A memorial service will be celebrated at a later date in January.
