Annie Mae Moreland

Annie Mae Moreland, 89, of North Fort Myers died on Dec. 11, 2008 at the Cape Coral Hospital. Annie Mae was born on June 12, 1919 in Ragland, Ala., a child of George and Lessie (Vincent) Acker.

A resident of North Fort Myers since 1957, she worked for 37 years, until the age of 74, at the food counter at Woolworth’s that was located on McGregor Boulevard in Fort Myers.

She is survived by her children, Patricia Ann (Larry) Cowan of North Fort Myers and William Edward (Janice) Moreland of Naples, 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and her sister, Irene Dulaney of Eastboga, Ala. She was the mother of the late Michael Stephen Moreland who died on Oct. 31, 2007.

A Memorial Service was held on Wednesday, Dec. 17, at Affordable and Trusted Cremation Center at Horizon Funeral Home, 1605 Colonial Blvd., Ft. Myers. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts are requested to be sent to the Salvation Army, 10291 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33919.
