North Fort Myers Attractions

The Lee Civic Center, located on Bayshore Road in North Fort Myers, is a regional event center drawing crowds from Central and South Florida to its regularly scheduled events. Located at 11831 Bayshore Road, it is home to the Southwest Florida/Lee County Fair, held late February, as well as music festivals and shows of various types — everything from dog and horse shows to craft shows and gun shows. The complex, located on 105 acres, includes the 90,000 square-foot Civic Center with seating for 7,800 or up to 230 trade show type vendors, as well as the 15,000 square-foot Exposition Hall for seminars, parties and trade shows, a 17,000 square-foot outdoor pavilion, and a 160 site campground for RV rallies. Call 239-543-2020 for a complete and up-to-date schedule of events.

ECHO — Educational Concerns for Hunger Organizations, located at 17391 Durrance Road (543-3246)– is devoted to giving people “a hand up, not a hand out” through fascinating agricultural developments, processes and seeds. They also specialize in the creative use of everyday items to make food production more efficient. ECHO is open for tours on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday at 10AM.

The world famous Waltzing Waters — at the Shell Factory on US 41, just south of the “41 fork” — features 3 shows nightly during “season,” and 2 “off.” The whole family will be amazed by the way the water dances with the music theme from rock to classical masterpieces to show tunes. All shows are unique — you will never see the same show twice! Entrance fees apply. Call 995-2141 for specific details.
