As part of the Del Prado Boulevard widening project, motorists should be on alert for a permanent road closure of Northeast 18th Street and Del Prado Boulevard. Starting Wednesday, Jan. 21, crews will permanently close Northeast 18th Street east of Del Prado Boulevard.
Motorists traveling either north or south on Del Prado Boulevard may access Northeast 18th Street via Northeast 16th Terrace, north to Northeast 16th Place and east onto Northeast 18th Street.
Advance warning signs, electronic message boards and barricades will be used to assist motorists traveling through the area. Construction in this section of roadway is scheduled to take place over the next several months from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
While traveling through the work zone, motorists are urged to use caution, obey the posted speed limit of 45 mph and seek alternative routes whenever possible. Please be advised that unforeseen circumstances and weather may affect the schedule.
