Fees change at Lee County Parks & Recreation
Lee County Parks & Recreation will charge the following fees effective March 15:
Annual parking stickers: $60 per year (formerly $50).
Beach parking at Lynn Hall Park, Bonita Beach and Access No. 1: $2 per hour (formerly $1). Note: These changes may take effect later than March 15 because machines must be reprogrammed.
Recreation centers: $25 family memberships and $10 individual memberships at Wa-Ke Hatchee, Veterans and Estero recreation centers (formerly $20 and $5, respectively).
Punta Rassa and Matlacha Park boat ramps: $10 per day (formerly $5).
Imperial River, Davis and Alva boat ramps: $5 per day (Alva was formerly free).
Please note that the $60 annual parking sticker will be honored at boat ramps listed here.
“The fee increase will help make these programs more self-sustaining during our economically challenging times,” Manager Dave Harner said. “Lee County Parks & Recreation programs, summer camps and facilities still offer some of the best value in Southwest Florida.”
Economic conditions also have led Lee County Parks & Recreation managers to suspend the opening of the four seasonal swimming pools this summer Cypress Lake High School Pool, North Fort Myers High School Pool, Riverdale High School Pool and Tice Community Pool. Although Lee County Parks & Recreation will not be providing programs at these pools, the Lee County YMCA will be offering swimming lessons at Cape High School Pool, Cypress Lake High School Pool and Riverdale High School Pool. The county’s four pools that operate year-round will remain open this summer. They include the Lehigh Acres Community Pool, North Fort Myers Community Pool, Pine Island Community Pool and San Carlos Community Pool.
