Reminder: Second annual Law Enforcement Powder Puff Football Game is Sunday
Just a reminder that the female members of the Cape Coral and Fort Myers police departments will take on the women from Lee County area fire departments in the second annual Law Enforcement Powder Puff football game Sunday at Fort Myers High School.
The players are raising money for charity, and this year’s event will benefit the family of Bob Souza, a Cape Coral firefighter seriously injured in a traffic accident. The substantial costs for his medical care have placed a significant financial burden on his family. The teams also will donate funds to “For the Kids Foundation” as part of the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.
Gates open at 2 p.m. and the kickoff will be at 4 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, and kids get in free. There will be drawings for door prizes. Fans also will be treated to an entertaining half-time show presented by all-male cheerleaders from the participating agencies.
