Author, director of the Geriatric Psychiatry to speak on advances in the treatment of Alzheimer’s

Peter Rabins, MD, MPH, an internationally known expert on psychiatric disorders in the elderly and co-author of the book “The 36-Hour Day,” and author of “Getting Old Without Getting Anxious” will deliver a talk on advances in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease Thursday, April 23, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Temple Beth-El.
Rabins, director of the Geriatric Psychiatry Program at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, serves on the Professional Advisory Board of event sponsor SeniorBridge. The lecture and book signing is free to the public.
The Fort Myers office of SeniorBridge, a specialized organization that manages chronic care in the home and other settings, is presenting the event. Co-sponsors are The Alvin A. Dubin Alzheimer’s Resource Center, and Arden Courts of Fort Myers, an Assisted Living Community specializing in Dementia and Alzheimer’s care.
“The 36-Hour Day” was the first comprehensive book about Alzheimer’s disease for the layperson. “Getting Old Without Getting Anxious” was the first book to help the millions of older Americans who suffer from anxiety disorders find relief and healing.
