The fire is still burning on the north and south side of I-75 between the 80 and 77 mile markers just east of SR 29. The fire is no longer contained between the 77mm and 78mm, but has spread from SR 29 eastward beyond the 77 and is currently being pushed in a northerly / northwesterly direction back towards and across I-75. It is suspected that the fire may cross SR 29 in a westerly direction both north and south of At this time, visibility is 0% on I-75 at this location due to Big Cypress Fire personnel back-burning the fire from the south (eastbound) fence line, and fighting the fires north of I-75 east of SR 29.
As a result, eastbound I-75 continues to be closed in Collier County from SR 951 (Exit 101) and I-75 westbound is closed from US 27 in Broward County. SR 29 has been closed again from US 41 north to CR 858 (Oil Well Road) in Collier County.
