Assisted living facility plans barbecue for meet-and-greet
There is a new, assisted living care facility in Cape Coral that is very close to opening.
The folks at The Windsor of Cape Coral are reaching out to the community with a free barbecue, a sort of meet-and-greet that organizers hope is a great way to give back to the community.
“We’re a brand new community and we’re opening in December,” said Dawn Platt, Windsor marketing director. “We’re asking people to join us for a free barbecue because we’re proud of our community and proud to be a part of it.”
Under construction since June 2008, the Windsor facilities should be completed in August.
Platt said the barbecue will be held on the lawn since construction is not yet complete, but she hopes to make the barbecue an annual community event.
“We really just want to meet people and let them know we’re here,” she said.
According to Platt, the Windsor is an assisted care facility that also offers “memory care.” Memory care is an area for memory deficits and Alzheimer’s patients, she said.
The barbecue is free and open to the public. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be served.
