Florida Division of Forestry is conducting a 64-acre prescribed fire in Nancy Payton Preserve in Collier County today. The burn is part of ongoing fuel reduction and forest management programs to benefit natural resources and wildlife while lowering the risk of catastrophic wildfires.
Residents were notified by mail that the burn would be conducted on a day around July 20-Aug. 12, as conditions permit. Residents may experience smoky conditions.
