NFM Traffic Stops Yields Thousands in Cocaine
On Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at approximately 12:11 a.m., a Lee County Sheriff’s Office deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driving without any tail lights. The stop was conducted in the area of Magnolia Drive and Bayshore Road, North Fort Myers. The deputy approached the driver’s side window of the vehicle, a Silver 2009 Jeep, and made contact with a male and a female. A records check of the passenger, identified as James Derisma (DOB 5/27/76), revealed a warrant out of Collier County for Failure to Appear. Derisma was removed from the vehicle and placed under arrest.
The driver, identified as Kristy Marie Pastore (DOB 11/10/81), provided documentation indicating the car was a rental which should have been returned on July 21. The rental contract also stated the car had been rented to Pastore’s mother, and no other individual was authorized to be driving it without written approval from the rental agency. Based on this information, a tow truck was requested.
A search of the vehicle revealed a large, brick shaped object wrapped in aluminum foil and concealed in a shaving bag. Deputies opened the foil package and discovered a large, compressed brick of cocaine. Due to the nature of the incident, detectives with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit assumed the investigation. The brick of cocaine was placed into evidence. On a scale, it weighed 1067.8 grams, with the street value ranging between twenty-two thousand and twenty-eight thousand dollars.
Both Pastore and Derisma have been charged with Trafficking More Than 150 Kilograms of Cocaine. They were arrested and taken to the Lee County Jail for booking.
Pastore’s last known address is listed as 8346 Nault Drive, Fort Myers. Derisma’s last known address is 335 Ellis Street, Fort Myers.
