Scouting News

For nearly 100 years, scouting has helped young men develop academic skills, self-confidence, ethics, leadership skills and citizenship skills that influence and guide them the rest of their lives. To join or learn more about scouting attend the sign-up night on Thursday, Sept. 3 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at all public elementary school cafeterias in Lee County. Cub Scouts is for boys in 1st through 5th grade and Boy Scouts is for boys aged 11-8. Interested boys and parents are encouraged to attend the School Night Sign-up to find out more about Scouting.

Scouting combines outdoor activities, fitness, academics, and more in a fun and exciting program that provides youth with an opportunity to try new things, provide service to others, build self confidence, develop academic skills and reinforce ethical standards. These opportunities not only help them when they are young, but carry forward into their adult lives.

To find out more about the Southwest Florida Boy Scouts or to get involved call the Southwest Florida Council at 936-8072, or visit www.swflcouncilbsa.org.
