Resort at Marina Village to hold job fair to fill 100 slots
Fort Myers-based Sunstream Hotels and Resorts is hosting a job fair next week for its new property in Cape Coral.
Located at Tarpon Point Marina, the new Resort at Marina Village is looking to hire 100 management and entry-level positions.
The job fair is Thursday from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sept. 19 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Sunstream spokeswoman Carolyn Masten said she expects a large number of applicants, though she did not speculate on the exact number Thursday.
She added that all backgrounds will be considered, not just those people with hospitality experience.
“We all know the unemployment rate is 13 percent,” Masten said, “and I’m looking forward to getting the best of the best that’s out there. We’ve seen a lot of resumes so far, but seeing people in person is a definite plus.”
The two-day job fair will help to staff the 184 all-suite resort, which is set to have a soft opening in November.
The Cape’s first waterfront resort will boast shopping, dining, private dock access and a spa, among other unique amenities.
Masten suggested that applicants bring a current copy of their resume.
On-the-spot interviews will be conducted both days for all available positions, which include sales, catering, food and beverage, guest services and housekeeping.
“Just make sure you have your current resume,” she said. “We will be having preliminary interviews for all departments during those two days.”
