– TOPS – Taking Off Pounds Sensibly – is an non-profit organization that has been meeting the area for years. They meet at the North Fort Myers Church of the Nazarene, 6781 Bayshore Rd., every Wednesday at 8:45, with meeting starting at 9. The group as a whole has lost 65 pounds so far this years.
– Looking to improve your communication skills, lose your fear of public speaking and learn skills that can help you be more successful? Join the Electric Toasters for an action packed hour every second and fourth Wednesday at noon held at LCEC in North Fort Myers. The Electric Toasters is a local chapter of Toastmasters International and is an open club. Bring your lunch and learn what Toastmasters can do for you! – The North Fort Myers Design Review Panel (NFMDRP) will be meeting at 6 p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month at the North Star Yacht Club high rise condominium. Ask the security guard at the gate where to park. The address is 3420 Hancock Bridge Parkway, North Fort Myers, FL 33903. – Bereaved Parents of the USA, Lee County Florida Chapter, holds support meetings on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m. at Evangelical Presbyterian Church (portable behind Administration building) 701 Mohawk Pkwy, S.E. Cape Coral. This is for any family member who has suffered the loss of a child of any age and any cause. For information call Helene Lagudi, chapter leader (239) 945-3173.
– The North Fort Myers Elks Lodge 2742, (239) 731-2867, meets the first and third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. The lodge has an ongoing program to feed homeless veterans every Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. Clothing and pantry items are also available. The lodge is located at 2163 Twin Brooks Rd., North Fort Myers.
– The Concerned Citizens of Bayshore Community meets every first Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the New Hope Christian Church across from Lawhon’s on Bayshore Rd. For more information, call 543-1435.
– The North Fort Myers Civic Association for the betterment of the community meets every second Tuesday of the month at the Community of Christ Church at 368 Herron Rd. at 7 p.m. The public is invited. For information, call 543-3510.

– The Caloosa Clown Alley COAI#97, was founded in August 23, 1978. The alley is chartered with the Clowns of America International (www.COAI.org). We participate in a variety of public service and community events each year. For more information contact Kent “KA-YO” Sheets at 995-8881.
– Chapter FL2G, Gold Wing Road Riders Association, holds its monthly chapter meeting the first Saturday of each month at 8:30 a.m. at Buddy Freddy’s Restaurant, 60 Pine Island Rd., North Fort Myers. – Suncoast Neighborhood Task Force – the group meets at the home of the Millers, 7657 Hart Rd., every second and fourth Monday at 6:30 p.m. The Suncoast Junior Task Force meets at the same location every second and fourth Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Call (239) 731-2003.
– For stay-home moms – MOMS Club of Fort Myers North meets the third Thursday of each month at 10 a.m. The club has weekly activities, moms night out once a month and fun community service projects. – Tamiami Tale Tellers – Join this storytelling group every third Thursday of each month, for tellers and listeners. The group meets at 7 p.m. and the cost is free. Tales take place at The Grand Court, 8351 College Parkway, Fort Myers. For information, call 731-9694 or 543-4872.
– East Mariana Neighborhood Watch – residents of the East Mariana neighborhood are invited to the monthly meeting of the East Mariana Neighborhood Watch on the third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at 1645 Temple Terrace, corner of Ixora and Temple Terrace.

– Cape Coral Family Support Group – This support group is for family, loved ones and caregivers of those who have been diagnosed with a mental illness. This support group meets on the first Monday of every month, starting at 7 p.m., and is located at the SWFAS Building, 1105 Cultural Park Blvd. in Cape Coral.
– CARING4KIDS – This support groups is for family, loved ones and caregivers of those below the age of 18 who have been diagnosed with a mental illness. This support group meets on the third Thursday of every month, starting at 6 p.m., and is located at the Ruth Cooper Center, 2789 Ortiz Ave., Building F, Fort Myers.
– Fort Myers Family Support Group – This support group is for family, loved ones and caregivers of those who have been diagnosed with a mental illness. This support group meets on the first Wednesday of every month, starting at 7 p.m., and is located at St. Hillary’s Church at the corner of Colonial Blvd. and McGregor Boulevard in Fort Myers.
