Annual Native Plant Sale
The Coccoloba Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society is sponsoring their annual native plant sale on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lee County Manatee Park. The Florida Native Society provides the sale as an opportunity for the public to buy native plants to create and restore the natural plant communities that provide Lee County’s life support systems. All plants are from local growers. Select from a variety of shrubs, vines, trees and butterfly plants. These plants are chemical-free and safe for butterflies. On-site experts will help with questions and selections. 350 live oak trees will be sold for $3.50 to the first 350 buyers. Manatee Park is located at 10901 Palm Beach Blvd. 1.3 miles east of Interstate 75, directly across the street from the FPL Plant. No pets please. For information go to www.leeparks.org.

Igumen Varsonofy is in America as a guest of His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR). In addition, Metropolitan Hilarion has blessed the Very Reverend Hieromonk Aidan (ROCOR) to pilgrimage to the monastery at the end of this week for next Sunday's Commemoration of the Holy Fathers of the Seventh Ecumenical Synod. Services will be in Church Slavonic and English.
