On Jan. 8, 2010, Carmen and Emily Alessi will celebrate their 71st anniversary.
The couple was married in Newark, N.J., and lived in Oakhurst prior to moving to North Fort Myers four years ago. One thing in their lives has not changed - their love for each other and for their family.
Carmen was a butcher until his late 50s when he purchased and ran a gas station/body shop. He sold the businesses when he retired at age 65.

The Alessis, who live in Del Tura, spend their leisure time visiting with friends, playing cards and shuffleboard. In addition, Emily enjoys sewing and cross-stitch.
The Alessi family is five generations: two children, three grandchildren, three great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
