"This is a great opportunity for students," said Dr. Peter Bohatch, principal, Island Coast High School. "School staff providing students information is one thing, but when [students] hear directly from the colleges and universities, it really brings it to another level."
All Lee County high school students and parents are invited to attend the event designed to help aid the students in selecting their post-secondary institution. The event is part of the Island Coast High comprehensive journey to their AVID Program (Advancement via Individual Determination) which is an initiative designed to focus students on closing the achievement gap by preparing ALL students for college readiness and success in a global society.
