There will be three days of performances and a special dinner when the Majestic Sounds Quartet visits Saving Grace Church of the Brethren in North Fort Myers. The events start Sunday, Feb. 12, and continue through Feb. 15.

Formerly known as the First Church of the Brethren of North Fort Myers, the church is on Pacific Avenue in North Fort Myers, the street across from the main WalMart entrance on Pine Island Road.

Pastor Robert "Bob" Chapman is excited about the upcoming days and musical appearances, especially the Majestic Sounds Quartet with performs at 7 p.m. on Feb. 12.

"They are an inspirational Southern Gospel Band, a four-man band with one member a former minister."

That is band member Norm Patterson.

"I also used to co-pastor with him on Pine Island at New Fellowship Baptist Church. He will also be preaching or delivering the message those nights."

Other band members include Jim Spradling, Keith Petrequin and Ben Russell.

The Majestic Sounds Quartet was formed in February of 2008 through the efforts of Spradling, who is from Wilmington, Ohio and Petrequin, who is from Waynesville, Ohio. This group is based out of Wilmington.

Patterson was ordained as a Baptist Pastor in 1974 and began pasturing at Midland Baptist Church in Midland, OH. His singing took second place to his preaching and pasturing for the next 35 years and seven churches, said Chapman. Yet he was constantly in demand to provide special music for his own and other churches.

"Jim previously sang with a couple quartets and sings the bass part. Keith, an experienced soloist and music director, sings the baritone and/or tenor part. Ben Russell sings tenor for the Majestic Sounds Quartet. He has been singing Gospel for 40 years with various groups."

On Wednesday, Feb. 15, there will be a chance for a meet and greet with the quartet. "We're going to have a nice dinner for the chance to meet with the group individually."

The events are free, beginning at 7 p.m. each night, with refreshments to be served afterwards. The carry in dinner/pot luck on Feb. 15 will be held at 5:30 p.m.

Saving Grace Church is at 1691 Pacific Ave. For more information, call 997-3488.
