The North Fort Myers Chamber has announced the appointment of Christopher Jackson as its new executive director.

"We are very excited to have Chris Jackson on board," said Chamber President Dick Collins in a prepared statement. "The search committee and Executive Board were very impressed with Chris' energy, his background in successful non-profit organization development, and his grasp of our Chamber's mission. Equally important, Chris appreciates the value of volunteers as well as the members in an organization and he is passionate about the betterment of the local community."

The Chamber began the search for a new executive director last month, after former director Kim Constantine left the position to pursue other interests. Jackson was chosen from more than a dozen prospective candidates, officials said.

His former position was as the executive director of the Grace Community Center, a successful non-profit that serves more than ten thousands of our neighbors every year. He developed and encouraged dozens of volunteer teams, logging thousands of hours to administer many community focused programs. The Center's food pantry alone gave away more than 250,000 pounds of food to those in need last year. He also was responsible for the $1,000,000 build out of the former Winn Dixie grocery store into the current Community Center.

"I look forward to being a part of the positive growth for the future of North Fort Myers," Jackson said in a prepared statement. "As the previous executive director of the Grace Community Center here in North Fort Myers, I am no stranger to this community, and look forward to meeting all of our members. With the partnership of the Board of Directors and the growing membership, we hope to continue to broaden and improve our services to the community. Please feel free to reach out to me as well, with any comments or concerns, and I will do my best to assist you in any way possible. It is a great time to be a Chamber member! Thank you for all you past and future support!"

Chamber leaders echoed their confidence that Jackson will continue to refine and expand the many dynamic member services and community involvement programs of their very active Chamber. He will begin work in early March.
