Santa Claus must like the warmer weather this time of year, because he's going to be coming around an awful lot from now until Christmas.

Kids of all ages will be able to see jolly old St. Nick several times at the Shell Factory at 2787 Tamiami Trail, which will have its Christmas House decked out like never before.

Holiday shoppers will also be able to take advantage of deals on merchandise and attractions.

Santa will be at the Shell Factory this Saturday and Sunday, as well as Sunday, Dec. 3, Saturday, Dec. 9, Dec. 16 and 17, and Friday Dec. 22 and Saturday Dec. 23. All from 10 a.m. to noon.

Parents are encouraged to bring the whole family and their cameras, as the will be able to get free pictures with Santa.

"We have a lot more dates with Santa than last year and earlier. This is the real Santa. He loves the Shell Factory," said Rick Tupper, CFO and marketing director at the Shell Factory. "The Christmas House has really been expanded this year. There are new products and collectibles."

Anne Sheridan, general manager, said the Christmas House, which was already the biggest around, is even bigger. Also, there are so many new collectibles that chances are collectors will find something to love.

"There isn't much from Department 56 that's new that we don't have. We have new ornaments, bean drop ornaments, one beautiful decoration after the other," Sheridan said. "We have thousands of new ornaments on the trees. Everything is exciting."

Among the features this month will be 20 percent off anything in the Christmas House, a family fun park package, an opportunity to ride the zipline with Santa, and free admission for children to the Nature Park with an adult admission throughout the month of December.

Sheridan said there will be more decorations throughout the property, including inside the restaurant and the store.

"We're going crazy decorating the store. We've made a lot of moves changed things around and made it really special for the holidays," Sheridan said.
