The Shell Factory & Nature Park will host its second-annual Nam Jam on Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The veterans-oriented event will feature live music, food for purchase, specials for veterans and a tribute to the U.S. military.

The tribute will begin at 2 p.m. and will include an appearance by Maj. Gen. James Lee Dozier, a Fort Myers resident who was held in captivity by an Italian terrorist group in 1981.

Peter Busch of NBC-2 will serve as master of ceremonies for the tribute, which is expected to take about an hour.

Another feature will be a virtual Vietnam War Memorial Wall, where attendees can put in the name of a loved one and everything about them will appear on a monitor, according to Anne Sheridan, general manager of the Shell Factory.

"The veterans know Mr. Dozier. He goes to the many different locations where they meet. So that's exciting," Sheridan said. "We have our color guard and some bagpipers coming in, we'll have prayer and song and a tribute to the fallen vets and retired vets who will speak of what they went through. It's sad but people love it."

Admission is free to all attendees, and veterans also receive free admission to the nature park, a free round of mini golf for four, tickets for two draft beers or well drinks, 20 percent off purchases in the retail store, and a free photo with a zip line purchase.

Additionally, there will be a 50/50 raffle, with half going to the winner and half being presented to the Southwest Florida Military Museum in Cape Coral.

"We are pleased to host this event for the second year," said Pam Cronin, owner of The Shell Factory & Nature Park in a statement. "It is a small but meaningful way to give back to veterans and honor them for their service. We had a wonderful turnout last year and look forward to meeting more of our local veterans and community members."

The Shell Factory & Nature Park is at 2787 N. Tamiami Trail
