Sea-Craft Waterfront Tiki opens in Marinatown

June 3, 2020

A new restaurant at Marinatown was hitting its stride when the coronavirus pandemic stopped things in their tracks.

Now, with everything starting to reopen the Sea-Craft Waterfront Tiki is as well, opening up to 50 percent capacity on the inside while allowing for diners to enjoy the views of the waterfront on the outside.

Chef Nicholas Elmer, formerly from La Corte Bistro, opened the Sea-Craft as part of the AC Food Group, which includes Point 57 and Redfish Pointe with a soft open in December before fully opening in January.

In mid-March, COVID-19 shut everything down for two months. The entire staff was partially furloughed and many were brought over to Point 57 for to-go orders.

On May 11, Sea-Craft re-opened and everyone who wanted to come back did, for as many hours as they could handle. Two staff members stayed home to be with their families.

"We're following the CDC guidelines, the tables are spaced out nine feet from the center, and there are no barstools available," Elmer said. "Most of the dining room is outside, so it doesn't affect us. Capacity outside is 100."

Sea-Craft offers bar-forward, higher-end fare such as pressed burgers, loaded fries, steaks and fried seafood baskets, sandwiches, tacos and ruby red shrimp, most of which are in the intermediate price range. Elmer uses big portions, so make sure you save some room.

Sea-Craft runs specials every day, such as Mahi Picata with a lemon-butter caper sauce and the 12-ounce Ribeye. There is a meat and seafood special nightly and drink specials.

Happy hour is daily from 3 to 6 p.m. and 3 to close on Sunday. Tuesday is Ladies Night, with their first drink free. Wednesday is Bike Night, with $10 buckets of beer and $5 whiskey. They also have Mason Jars and craft beer to enjoy.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday features live music and Sunday brunch features bottomless Mimosas and Bloody Mary's.

"There's a fun clean atmosphere for everyone to enjoy themselves. There's good food, good service and good prices. It's all we're trying to do," Elmer said.

Sea-Craft Waterfront Tiki is at 3440 Marinatown Lane and is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information call 257-3111 or go online to seacrafttiki.com.
