Doctor joins family at chiropractic clinic
Dr. Casey Means, a board-certified chiropractic physician, has joined family members at the Means Family Chiropractic Clinic in North Fort Myers.
He joins uncles Mark C. Means, D.C., and Rick A. Means, D.C., at their clinic, located at 150 Pondella Road.
You can see the new Means arrive for work on his motorcycle; he’s had a love for riding all of his life.
“I grew up racing BMX bikes in Cape Coral,” he said. “But the cruiser I bring to work is safer.”
Each of the Means doctors have their own practice within their building, with Casey just starting his.
“I’m looking forward to working a lot with children, I want to focus on pediatric care,” he said. “That’s my favorite, working with kids. We do a lot of school physicals, and I enjoy it.”
He uses his sense of humor and even magic tricks to put them youngsters at ease.
“Studies have shown that kids under chiropractic care have greatly fewer health issues,” he said.
He added that some, after a few visits, actually look forward to coming back.
“We also work a lot with the elderly because of our area,” he said. “It’s a lot of the same techniques, and you want to be extremely gentle.”
Means recently earned his doctorate of chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange, Fla., where he was awarded the prestigious Virgil V. Strang award for his distinctive accomplishments and contributions to the principles of chiropractic. He received his bachelor of science degree from Florida Gulf Coast University after graduating from North Fort Myers High School.
His family and the practices have been a staple in the North Fort Myers community for over 16 years.
“We’re very family-oriented,” he said.
Dr. Mark Means is known for working with handicapped children, and organized the community-acclaimed “Big League Baseball” game last August where numerous physically and developmentally challenged kids got to experience playing baseball. He is now in the process of developing some other sports programs for area physically challenged children.
Casey is also the grandson of the late Rev. Rea Means, who was the beloved pastor of Bayshore Community Chapel.
“He was there for 30 years,” he said. “That’s where I got my strong Christian background.”
He is married to wife Raelyn.
“We look forward to having children in the future,” he said.
He said he is looking forward to his new practice.
“As a Fort Myers native, I have a heart for this community, and I look forward to helping the people of Southwest Florida for many years to come.”
The Means Family Chiropractic Clinic was founded in 1982 by brothers Dr. Mark Means and Dr. Rick Means, also board-certified chiropractors.
