Student Arrested For Making Bomb Threat

By Staff | Mar 19, 2009

A former Bonita Springs Middle School student, recently sent to the Alternative Learning Center for behavioral problems, has been arrested for making a bomb threat.

At approximately 10:00 am on March 18, 2009, a call came in to Bonita Springs Middle School. The call was described as muffled with some unknown noise. No words were spoken and the caller hung up.

A second call was received approximately 3 minutes later. The male caller claimed there was a bomb in the school and hung up.

The school was immediately evacuated. A walk through was conducted by Lee County sheriff’s deputies, members of the fire department and a school staff member.

After law enforcement released the scene, the students were escorted back into the building.

Detectives learned that the call came to the direct phone line of the school’s principal. The principal noted that she had given that phone number to just one student and she recognized the voice to be that of a student named Keith Hall, DOB 8-23-96, of 14561 Bellino Terrace, Bonita Springs.

Hall was questioned and subsequently arrested for making a bomb threat.

In North Fort Myers, an elementary school had a bomb threat last month.
