Plan ahead for Tax Night
For all of those who procrastinate to file and mail their taxes, I have one word for you: DON’T!! Why not mail them now, and save yourself some stress on April 15th??
But for those of you who insist on waiting until the 15th to send out those dreaded taxes, we do have some services that will be available to you.
The Cape Central Post Office, located at 1030 SE 9th Ave, Cape Coral will remain open for business until 8:00pm the evening of the 15th. Full retail service and an April 15th postmark will be available until then.
The Fort Myers Processing & Distribution Center, located at 14080 Jetport Loop Rd, Fort Myers, will have a retail mobile unit set up in the front parking area from 5:00pm-12:00am. This mobile unit will be selling stamps, special services such as certified mail, and will also be postmarking your tax returns. The blue collection boxes in front of the Processing & Distribution Center will have their last pick up at 12:00am, for and April 15th postmark.
All other Post Offices and contract Post Offices in the Fort Myers/ Cape Coral area will close at the end of normal business hours. Collection of mail from blue collection boxes will be the normal posted times.
Let’s all get those taxes filed and sent out this year early for as the old saying goes “Why put off until tomorrow what you can do today?? “
