By Staff | Jul 14, 2009

Businesses have an opportunity to learn how to save both time and money when sending certified Mail through the U.S. Postal Service. They can also learn how to take advantage of commercial discounts when shipping packages with the USPS.

A special “Certified Mail Solutions” seminar is being hosted by the Southwest Florida Postal Customer Council on Thursday, August 13, between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon. The seminar is being held at Hodges University, 4501 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers. The registration cost is $10.

The seminar will consist of two portions:

Electronic Return Receipts, presented by Modular Mailing Systems, will discuss getting proof of delivery needed electronically to save money; and

Commercial Postal Discounts for Mailers, presented by USPS representatives, will explain how to save time from standing in line at the Post Office and pay less by transacting business online.

Registration is required by August 6 and can be made through www.swflapcc.com. Additional information about the seminar may be obtained by calling 239-573-9638.

Mr. Zip’s Tip: The U.S. Postal Service operates the largest civilian vehicle fleet in the world-more than 216,000 vehicles driving more than one billion miles a year. That includes the world’s largest fleet of alternative fuel vehicles-more than 36,000-that use clean fuels such as ethanol, compressed natural gas, electricity and biodiesel fuel.
