By Staff | Nov 3, 2009

Andrea Galabinski Lee County Commissioner Ray Judah took the challenge of Dr. Terry Tucker who doubled the original bet by Greg Frith of Fireside Disaster Service (not pictured).

There was a $500 tip for one song, a fire chief doing somersaults and a county commissioner doing a salsa dance. There was even a pie in the face. Those were some of the highlights of the annual Celebrity Waiter event held by the North Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce.

A $500 song was requested by Beth Sanger of the Cape Coral Community Foundation to waiter Sherri Magnus, founder of Tender Loving Care, for a rendition of “Old McDonald’s Farm.”

“Scholarships are one of the biggest things we support,” said Sanger of the foundation. “We commend the North Fort Myers Chamber for supporting education.”

Funds raised by the event go to local students for scholarships, said Chamber Executive Director Kim Constantine.

There were a lot of antics requested for donations to the cause.

The Celebrity Waiter event was a special day for Deputy Jarrod Cantrell, as it was his anniversary. He is pictured with daughter Brittany and wife Michelle. His daughter tipped him extra to "say nice things" to his wife.
