Artist’s rendition of suspect in attempted baby abduction released
Fort Myers police have released an artist’s sketch of a man who attempted to abduct a four-month-old baby in the 600 block of Fairview Avenue Monday.
The mother of the baby was pushing the child in a stroller when a white SUV, possibly a Ford Explorer, pulled up next to them. The man got out of the vehicle and asked her where they lived. The
suspect then attempted to unbuckle the baby from the stroller but fled in the SUV when another car approached.
The baby and his mother were unharmed.
Police, who had set a up perimeter and canvassed the neighborhood, are still looking for the man.
The suspect is described as being approximately 6 feet tall and 270 pounds.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Fort Myers Police Department at 239-321-7700 or call Crime Stoppers at 877-780-TIPS.
