Lee Parks announce NFM guided kayak tour

A Caloosahatchee Creeks guided trip will be held Thursday, January 7 from 8:30 a.m. until noon.

This is a one-way guided trip from Manatee Park beginning at 8:30 a. m. to North Fort Myers Caloosahatchee Creeks Preserve. There you will enjoy a short guided walk and transportation back to Manatee Park. This paddle crosses the Caloosahatchee River on the Great Calusa Blueway. Some previous paddling is recommended and can be obtained at one of our clinics!

Please Note For All Clinics and Trips: Trip duration is subject to weather conditions and tides. Trips may be cancelled due to dangerous weather conditions. Please bring your own sunscreen and clothing/shoes that may get wet. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Drinks and snacks available at gift shop.

Manatee Park is a non-captive refuge for the endangered Florida Manatee. Optimum viewing for the Florida manatee is between the months of November March. Visitors will enjoy walking the ADA accessible paths through the restored native plant habitats and beautiful butterfly gardens. Volunteer interpretive naturalists provide guidance along the walkways throughout the park. In addition to wildlife observation the park offers picnic facilities, playground, fishing pier, self-guided Ethnobotany trail, and canoe / kayak launch to the Orange River.

Manatee Park is open 8:00a – sundown. Parking is $1.00/hr per vehicle, maximum $5.00. No Pets. Manatee Park is located at 10901 Palm Beach Blvd. 1.3 miles east of I 75 on SR 80 directly across the street from the FPL power plant. For more information go to www.leeparks.org
