Cape woman charged with using Target gift cards
A Cape Coral woman loaded gift cards using them to spend $500 while working at the Target store on Santa Barbara Boulevard, South, according to police.
Amanda Jordan Miller, 18, of 130 S.E. 29th Terrace, allegedly took the gift cards while working at the store from Dec. 13-21 and loaded the cards with amounts ranging from $50-$100. Miller used the cards to purchase items, police said.
According to an arrest report from the Cape Coral Police Department, an investigation found that Miller marked on the cash register computer that she received cash from store customers for the gift cards. Miller reportedly told police that she never received cash and never put money into the register drawer.
MIller was arrested and charged Monday with one count of larceny theft of $300 or more but less than $5,000. She was booked into the Lee County Jail and later released on $1,500 bond.
A telephone message left for Miller was not returned Tuesday.
