Special advance calendar to launch in The Neighbor

By Staff | Jan 12, 2010

The North Fort Myers Neighbor will publish a special detailed, advance events calendar section on Wednesday, Jan. 27. The paper is now collecting local event information through April 30 to be highlighted.

“It’s a way to welcome back winter residents to the North Fort Myers area, and to let them know what the community has to offer in the way of entertainment and activities in next few months,” said Neighbor Sales Executive Linda Frost.

It will reach more than 14,000 homes in the area, and it’s a great opportunity for organizations to promote their events, readers to plan ahead and the advertisers to reach the community.

“We are excited about this new informational feature,” said Tom White, advertising sales leader for Breeze Newspapers, which includes The Neighbor. “It will publish quarterly in The North Fort Myers Neighbor. I look forward to it helping build community awareness, and support for local businesses.”

The editorial staff is compiling the event calendar. Please submit any upcoming event information to The Neighbor via e-mail, to nfmneighbor@breezenewspapers.com .

The deadline to receive editorial/calendar information is Wednesday, Jan. 20, and include events from the dates of Jan. 27 through April 30. It is a section that can be saved and referred to for fun and interesting area happenings.

Already, the Shell Factory & Nature Park have reported on their popular Gumbo Fest and Groundhog Day celebration, along with the Lee Civic Center giving details on the upcoming County Fair.

Submissions should include who, what, when and where the event will take place, along with contact information that can be published.
