On Thursday, Jan, 21, members of the United States Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force, consisting of members of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Warrants Unit, United States Marshals Office and Florida Department of Law Enforcement, responded to 621 S.E. 46th Terrace, Cape Coral, in reference to a wanted federal fugitive from justice. When operatives arrived on scene, they reportedly came into contact with the wanted individual, identified as Bruno Montrond. He was taken into custody without incident.
Montrond had an active warrant out of Brockton, Mass., for the sale and delivery of cocaine. According to reports, he has been a fugitive since September 2009, when he evaded members of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms during a roundup in which 13 individuals were arrested for their connection to the sale and possession of illicit narcotics and firearms.
Information obtained through the investigation into Montrond’s whereabouts led authorities to his alleged girlfriend’s home in Cape Coral. He is currently being held in federal custody.
