Motorcyclist injured in Thursday night crash succumbs to injuries
A motorcyclist who suffered life-threatening injuries when he crashed his Harley Davidson on Thursday night has died.
Keith Radke, 39, was pronounced dead at 10:29 a.m. Sunday at Lee Memorial Hospital. Radke is the second traffic fatality in a week in Cape Coral.
Cape Coral had nine fatalities in 2009.
Radke was traveling at a high rate of speed as he came around the curve on Del Prado Boulevard at the intersection of Averill Boulevard, officials said. He struck a curb and lost control of the bike. Radke was not wearing a helmet and suffered severe head and chest injuries.
Radke had left a bar in Fort Myers before the accident. His medical blood alcohol level was 0.189, officials said.
A traffic homicide investigation is being conducted.
