Clerk attacked in robbery

Deputies are looking for a man who was punched the clerk in a North Fort Myers store and then fled with cash.

The incident occurred at the 7-11 located at 6326 Beau Drive shortly before noon Monday.

Deputies were told a man entered the store and demanded cash from the victim. The robber walked behind the counter and brutally punched the clerk in the head. The impact caused her to fall to the floor, striking her head on the counter.

The man could be seen leaving the store with an undisclosed amount of money. The clerk suffered some bruising, but did not require transport to the hospital.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’11” tall, medium to heavy build with black hair and brown eyes. He was was wearing a yellow shirt, blue jean shorts below the knees and white athletic shoes.
