Police: Two sold illegal drugs to detective
Two men were arrested and charged Tuesday for selling crack cocaine to a Cape Coral undercover detective.
Phanord Janvier Jr., 25, of 7600 Omni Lane, Apt. 303, Fort Myers, and Reginald Lenard Davis, 27, of 865 Dellana Lane, Fort Myers, are charged with sale of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a church and conspiracy to sell cocaine. Janvier is also charged with possession of cocaine and possession of paraphernalia.
At 8:35 p.m. Tuesday, detectives with the Cape Coral Police Department’s Vice, Intelligence and Narcotics Unit completed the undercover purchase of crack cocaine from Janvier and Davis for $950. According to Connie Barron, police spokeswoman, the prepackaged weight of the drugs were 7.7 grams.
After the sale was completed, Janvier and Davis were taken into custody without incident by the VIN detectives and officers with the CCPD’s Street Crimes Unit. Barron reported that Janvier and Davis were booked and taken to the Lee County Jail.
Barron did not have details on where the drug sale or arrests took place.
According to jail booking records, Davis was being held on $16,000 bond Wednesday afternoon. Janvier’s bond was set at $23,500 for the charges tied to Tuesday’s arrest, but he is being held without bond for an Aug. 29 arrest on one count of dealing in stolen property.
