A registered sex offender has been arrested after failing to report an address change.

Norman Newton Wilson, Jr. DOB 01/25/1970, was arrested for failing to report a change of address to the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles within the mandated forty-eight hour time frame.

Detectives with the Sexual Predator Unit had been unable to make contact with Wilson during their monthly verification checks in December 2009 and January 2010 at his reported address of 316 Flamingo Circle, Fort Myers. It was learned that Wilson was living at a different address in North Fort Myers.

On February 24, 2010, detectives located Wilson residing at 2057 Laurel Lane, North Fort Myers. Wilson had not changed the address on his driver’s license within forty-eight hours as required.

At the conclusion of their investigation, detectives arrested Norman Newton Wilson, Jr. for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Obligation. His booking photo is available on the Sheriff’s Office website at www.sheriffleefl.org under Arrest & Inmates / Search Lee County Arrests.
