Eight DUI arrests were made Friday night and Saturday morning at a sobiety checkpoint at 17651 San Carlos Boulevard, Fort Myers Beach.
The following are the results of the activity that began at 11 p.m. and ended at 3 a.m. Saturday morning:
– DUI Arrests: 8
– Driving While License Suspended: 2
– Possession of Alcohol under 21: 2
– Arrests on other charges: 2
– Citations for misc. offenses: 31
– Number of vehicles passing through checkpoint: 782
This weekend’s checkpoint involved members of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Fort Myers Police Department, Cape Coral Police Department, and the Florida Department of Transportation.
