Lee County Public Schools officials have announced the winners of the 2010 Media Specialists of the Year. They are:
* Michelle Harclerode, Diplomat Elementary School;
* Deb Hanson, Veteran’s Park Academy for the Arts;
* Harriet Mottaz, Cape Coral High School.
Colleagues and administrators from across the district had the opportunity to nominate those media specialists they felt went above and beyond in performing their duties. Those nominating a media specialist had to provide a response to the following three points:
* How does this elementary/middle/high school media specialist contribute to student growth and achievement?
* Share the impact this elementary/middle/high school media specialist’s instructional practices have had on students in your school.
* Share the impact this elementary/middle/high school media specialist’s professionalism has had on the staff at your school.
