The USS Barb Base branch of the United States Submarine Veterans organization will be holding its annual picnic and potluck, this Saturday, April 10, from noon to 4 p.m. at Jaycee Park, pavilion 14.
The submarine veterans, which meet monthly at the Cape Coral Elks Lodge, is a non-profit organization that welcomes all active duty, prior service, and retired Navy submarine service veterans to participate in activities that include commemorative and charitable activities in the Lee County area.
The picnic this Saturday will be highlighted by a waterside ceremony commemorating the crews of all submarines lost at sea.
The organization’s next meeting will take place on the first Tuesday in May at 7 p.m. at the Elks Lodge 4631 South East 10th Place, Cape Coral.
