Friends of the Cape Library book sale this weekend

By Staff | Apr 20, 2010

The Friends of the Cape Coral Library is holding the first of its annual book sales this weekend.
The three-day event offers literature hounds the shot at some real bargains, with hardback books starting at $2, and paper backs at 75 cents.
All proceeds from the sale go to benefit the Friends of the Cape Coral Library, a non-profit organization that supports programs and purchases materials through their fund-raising efforts.
The sheer volume of books sold at the book sale is nothing short of a marvel, with tables packed with books. Donations poor in from the community throughout the year.
“All the items are donated from members, and other people in the community,” said Bob Novander, book sale coordinator.
The sale runs Thursday through Saturday at the Cape Coral Library.
Friday and Saturday are open to the public, while Thursday is open exclusively to members of the Friends of the Cape Coral Library.
The Thursday preview is one of many benefits of becoming a member, which starts at only $10. For those looking to become members, Novander said memberships can be purchased Thursday as well.
“If someone wanted to come and shop on Thursday they can join right at the door,” he said. “Its only $10 for an individual for an entire year.”
The members only sale runs 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Friday the book sale is from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
