The new store manager of the North Fort Myers Walmart recently made a donation from the company to the North Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce; a donation, said the Chamber’s executive director, that will be a vital tool to aid area businesses.

“Bobby Balder with Walmart gave us a check for $1,000 so our chamber can buy a new membership data system called Chamber Master,” said North Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kim Constantine. “Our chamber has never had such a system and this will be helpful to enhance our programs, events and service to the community. It’s more user-friendly, to help our membership find more resources.”

“I’ve been involved with chambers for the last five years,” said Balder. “I was a manager in Cape Coral before coming to the North Fort Myers store and was with the chamber there. And Walmart is very supportive of the community.”

Balder was promoted to his current position in the fall, and has been well received by employees and store guests, said Constantine.

“Balder was also recently nominated for the Florida Retail Federation, c/o Royal Nomination, for the 2010 Retailer of the Year Award for Leadership.”

“I like this store, and it’s high-volume,” Balder said.

“This is a very special time for us and we are so grateful to Walmart for their constant support through the years,” said Constantine.
