Boat stolen from Cape residence

By Staff | Jun 29, 2010

A twin-engine boat worth about $260,000 was stolen from a boat lift at a home located in southeast Cape Coral, according to a police report.
The 2008 Hydra/Sport 3300 Vector Model boat, with twin Yamaha 350-horsepower engines, was reported stolen Friday from a home located in the 5300 block of Coral Avenue. The vessel is valued at $200,000, and each engine is worth about $30,000.
According to the report, a neighbor noticed that the boat was missing and knew the owners were out of town. After calling the owner and learning they were not having the boat serviced, the neighbor called the Cape police.
The owner told police that there is no lien on the boat, so it could not have been repossessed, and nobody had permission to take the vessel. The report states that police observed the fuse box on the home was open and the boat lift control box had a lock on it that had been cut to gain access.
The boat is believed to have been stolen between June 23-25.
