Service Learning Workshop at Littleton Elementary

By Staff | Aug 30, 2010

Earlier this month, the staff at Dr. Carrie D. Robinson Littleton Elementary was notified that they were awarded a grant for $6,590 to support service learning within the Environmental Education program. This grant will support teachers using innovative teaching strategies as well as to enhance the motivation of students by making what they learn relevant to their daily lives. Service-Learning is intentionally used as an instructional strategy to meet learning goals and/or content standards.

On Saturday, September 18, 2010, from 911:30 a.m., the school will host a Service Learning Workshop. All teachers, administrators, business partners and community members are welcome to attend. Robinson Littleton Elementary is located at 700 Hutto Road, North Fort Myers. The school is seeking Service-Learning partners to collaborate to establish a shared vision and set common goals to address community needs. Those interested in attending should E-mail Susie Hassett at susanpha@leeschools.net to R.S.V.P.
