St. Andrew to hold Craft Fair, Garage Sale fund raiser
St. Andrew Catholic School will hold its 18th annual Craft Fair and second annual Garage Sale this Saturday and Sunday to help raise funds for the Patron of the Arts Program.
St. Andrew Catholic School Secretary Kim Butler said the annual craft fair provides a good turnout every year with various items.
Items such as ornaments, decor pieces for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, jewelry, homemade candy, bake sale items and crochet items can be purchased at the craft fair.
She explained that this year they also will have a concession stand set up to help support the athletic boosters club. Hotdogs, hamburgers and combo options will be sold for a nominal price.
Volunteer and parent Lori Rieselman said the garage sale went pretty well last year, and she had more traffic than she thought she would.
The garage sale featured various items, including clothing, games, figurines, household goods, furniture and jewelry last year.
Butler said families can purchase spaces under the pavilion or on the blacktop and sell their own items. She explained that the school makes a profit from the spaces they sell to the families for the garage sale.
“It’s a nice family atmosphere,” Butler said. “It is more festive than having an individual garage sale because you are all in one location.”
Rieselman said spaces are available and can be purchased for $5 to $25 for the garage sale. Anyone interested in being part of the garage sale can call Rieselman at (239) 980-1147.
The Craft Fair will be held on Saturday, Nov. 6 and Sunday, Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and the garage sale will be held on Sunday, Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
St. Andrew Catholic School is at 2628 Del Prado Blvd and Southeast 27th Street.
The Patron of the Arts Program provides funding to bring in different plays for various grade levels, along with sponsoring the media center and providing supplies that the art department may need for its programs.
