Chamber to host Webinar for businesses on Wednesday
Small businesses in North Fort Myers will have an opportunity to learn about all the programs and services they have at their disposal on Wednesday, when the North Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce will host a webinar at 1 p.m.
John Talmage, director for the Lee County Office of Economic Development, and Brian Hamman, county commissioner, will lead the seminar, and it will feature updates on resources offered by the Small Business Administration paycheck protection program.
Chamber President John Gardner will also be a part of the event.
The webinar also will inform people on the Economic Development Office call center, the local supply chain and other funds that may be available to them, such as Small Business Administration SBA loans, resources about different lenders and the other resources they have.
“This is specific to North Fort Myers. All the details will be posted on the Chamber’s Facebook page. They can go there and find the link that will lead them to the Webinar,” said Executive Director Wendy Murray.
Murray said Talmage has been doing similar webinars in other areas, and that she didn’t want North Fort Myers to be left out, so she was able to get something together that was more “NFM-centric.”
So far, the interest in the program has been strong, Murray said.
COVID-19 has really impacted businesses in North Fort Myers and all over the country. Despite that, Murray said business owners are optimistic.
President Donald Trump has said he would like to start reopening the country on May 1, which has drawn mixed reviews.
“We believe our elected officials have a good plan to reopen the country and we’ll see where it goes,” Murray said. “Since this is for local businesses, we have Commissioner Hamman as part of it.” Murray said.
