Speak up on Russian aggression information
To the editor:
Recently, Russia cyber-attacked our government with intrusions reported across a huge swath of the government–including at the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration. The Department of Homeland Security’s cybersecurity unit has acknowledged that the full scope of the attack is not yet known, with an untold number of local government and private sector systems at “grave risk.”
Federal officials have said that the worst may be yet to come.
Sen. Rubio, Rep. Rooney and Sen. Scott’s silence on this extremely serious attack on our nation’s security is puzzling. Even the Secretary of State has had the courage to disregard Trump’s fondness for Putin to say the Kremlin was surely behind this attack.
I am a constituent of Florida and I vote. I ask that our elected officials put aside their partisan allegiances and make a strong public statement in defense of our nation and in accordance with their Oath of Office.
