Realty company gets ‘Cre8ive’
Cre8ive Realtors team members specialize in different niches, making it a go-to place for people looking to buy and sell commercial and residential properties.
Kevin and Angie Cloutier have more than 40 years of experience in the field combined, beginning in Maine before coming to Southwest Florida in 2008. After working for several agencies and their son Kyle also got his realty license, Kevin said he was looking to slow down.
“I wanted to specialize more instead of being available for everything when the phone rang,” Kevin said. “Kyle and Angie had their licenses and I decided to start a brokerage so when I want to retire, they don’t have to worry about being absorbed by another office.”
Since opening, the Cloutier team has been a success, having been named Best Of Cape Coral since 2016, and Best Of North Fort Myers since 2017.
“Business has been good. We do a lot of advertising and are at a lot of places collectively, and the market hasn’t been bad either,” Kevin said. “During the pandemic, the governor was leery of shutting everything down, and everyone wants to come to Florida.”
Kevin handles all the commercial aspects of the business, especially if properties are automotive related, everything from auto parts to used car dealerships.
“My latest endeavor has been with Mancave Garages, which are luxury condos for car guys,” Kevin said. “You can keep your cars and toys there, and it’s a community, so you can hang around and be around like-minded people.”
Angie handles residential, while Kyle does residential and rental properties. Kyle said it’s great having two Realtors as parents, as he can draw from their experience.
“If you don’t understand something, you have two role models who have been through it, so you don’t have to call a broker in the office. With parents, you can have a conversation,” Kyle said.
“We’re each independent contractors, we’re licensed together, but we aren’t passing leads back and forth. We have our own separate businesses and, at the end of the day, we talk about how our day went,” Angie said.
As a residential agent, Angie said the most important attribute is knowledge in the area, from utilities to schools and amenities.
“Here, you really have to know what you’re doing because there’s a lot to know about Cape Coral like assessments, gulf access. Otherwise, you’re not helping your client,” Angie said. “North Fort Myers is unincorporated and there are many benefits to that like lower taxes.”
