Neighbor to go exclusively online at end of month
North Fort Myers Neighbor Living to debut on June 16
The North Fort Myers Neighbor will publish its final weekly print edition on Wednesday, May 26, giving way to an expanded lineup of news, lifestyle and marketing products for readers and advertisers.
The local news coverage residents have become accustomed to will become more timely online at www.northfortmyersneighbor.com.
“This will be the same local civic, business and sports stories readers get now, just presented in real time on the new-look Neighbor web site,” said Ray Eckenrode, publisher of the Neighbor and its parent company, Breeze Newspapers.
Although day-to-day news coverage is moving online, there will still be a print product for the market as North Fort Myers Neighbor Living debuts on June 16.
“The magazine will focus on North Fort Myers as a diverse and growing community and look at what makes it special. There will be a ‘meet your neighbor’ feel to it, profiles of people or organizations that make the community go,” said Valarie Harring, the Neighbor’s executive editor.
The magazine will be found at more than 100 community and business locations in North Fort Myers.
The Neighbor also will launch a new direct mailed advertising product in June, North Fort Myers Neighbor Direct, which will target 4,000 households per month, 16,000 total over each four-month cycle.
The Neighbor’s popular “Best Of North Fort Myers” contest will remain unchanged and returns this fall, allowing residents to select their favorite businesses in dozens of categories.
“We believe the North Fort Myers area is poised for positive change and growth and we’ve designed these products to take advantage of that, attracting broad readership and allowing advertisers to access that readership via multiple marketing channels,” Eckenrode said.
